Be the change, you want to see in the world. ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi's Guidance for Youth

Here is an incidence of Gandhi's life that can guide today's youth, when Gandhi went to London to become barrister, he was spending most of his time reading and spending money on books. He had to pass 12 terms in three years and there were “barrister dinners” organised for the students for having interaction with each other but Gandhi didn't know how eating and drinking wine can make him a good barrister but he had to attend them anyway beside being a vegetarian and teetotaler.
To be in this race, he soon started to spend money to fit in the luxuries, he bought a suit from most expensive and fashionable shop, had a double gold chained watch, made friend with young ladies, wore top hat and tie  just like today's youth do to show off.
He spent some time in fancy living but soon afterward realised how foolish it was of him to spent so much money on these luxuries, he had come here for study and his main purpose should be this only, so he bought a cheap room and stove and start living an entirely different life.

He would then make himself breakfast and dinner. He started to walk 8 to 10 miles a day and not heir transport services and we all are aware of his living style now. Gandhi's life is an example how simplicity can lead you to become popular one day and can even become trend by your name.
You need to be toiler to achieve success. Today's youth prefer smart work instead of hard-work. Yes, smartness is needed everywhere but they will never experience  the happiness that comes after hard work.

We see today's youth is going towards materialism as they spend most of the time in social media trying to show off what they are eating, doing, how they are having fun in their life and seeing all these activities, people who are connected to them feel dissatisfaction about their life, about the things they are unable to do and in some or other way faces depression.

A study by university of Pittsburgh shows that negative experiences from social media increase 20% chance of facing depression. Youths need to trace this changed behavior of them and learn to focus on real world rather than virtual.
Imagine if Gandhi never realised about his expenses and would go on wasting his time in fancy dinners and lifestyle. He would not be remembered after 150 years of his birth.
